The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has filed a lawsuit against Amtrak for allegedly discriminating against a worker with epilepsy. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), disabled workers have protections from job discrimination. The worker, whose epilepsy is under control, lost the job offer after Amtrak became aware of his disability. Many Americans are affected by disabilities, such as epilepsy; employers must be aware that discriminating against an employee or job applicant based on a disability is against the law.
